Galway Bay Fishing was established in 1999 by Kevin Mac Gabhann as a labour of love. Kevin was a well-known sailor and angler long before he launched his own boat and it may even be fair to say that his "marriage" to the "Maighdean Mara" (or "Maid of the Sea") was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.
Over the years Kevin's relationship with the waters in and around Galway Bay (as well as his skills at cooking the fruits) have gained him the reputation as the "Fir Uisce" (or "Fish man") of Connemara, and with that reputation, his commitment to the boat has grown to the point where his returning customers fill up the peak fishing season. The bottom line is, at Galway Bay Fishing, we have a passion for our passion for introducing people to the outstanding Irish deep sea fishing and beauty of Galway Bay.
Throughout our 21 years here in An Spidéal, Galway, this love and joy for the Irish landscape, waters and fish has not lessoned, and we look forward to doing it for many years to come.

“My wife, son and I went fishing with Kevin a couple of weeks ago and it was so much fun. The weather cooperated and the fishing was excellent. We caught the bait fish first, then caught a number of pollock, whiting and some other crazy looking fish. “What a Trip. We can highly recommend the Fishing trip with Kevin. He is a very nice skipper and it was really fun spending the day with him. After the trip he dropped the fish in a pub in Spiddal and they cooked us a meal with our fish. Very very good! If you are around this area do this trip!”
